My name is Kristy Collins, and I will be teaching the Third/Fourth HGT class. I have taught for 28
years, (all in DPS) and I have loved the past seven years at Southmoor in the HGT program. Because
of the children I am privileged to teach, I don't see myself hanging up the hat for a few more years.
I am an avid Buffs fan. I, my husband Tom, my brother and sister-in-law, my niece, and my daughter
Katie and son Kevin are University of Colorado graduates. I will attempt to be a little less jingoistic
about CU, but I make no promises!
I feel that I am a life-long learner. I will take about any training offered. I used to think that Literacy
and History were my favorite subjects to teach, but I have now decided that Math and Science are
really cool too. I hope to pass a love of learning on to your children.
My household consists of Tom and three pups: Maggie the beagle, Copper the beagle, and now Kelly,
the beady eyed monster. Be prepared to hear lots of stories! PLease remember the old adage: I'll
believe half of what I hear from your child, if you believe half of what they tell you about me.(:
