AP Accolades

After our first year as an “AP for All” school, we were all eager so see how our students performed last May. Needless to say, the results did not disappoint. With 67 students taking at least one AP exam, VCHS tallied 51 passing grades! (3 or higher) Furthermore, several students were once again recognized as AP Scholars, signifying a score of 3 or higher on three or more exams. These students were: Summers Baker, Athena Bowe, Jack Dunlevie, Teller Emmer, and Micaela McGuckin. Brendan Dalbow received honor as an AP Scholar with Distinction, signifying that he earned an average score of at least 3.5 on all AP exams taken! Hat’s off to all of our students and teachers!

Upcoming Tests at VCHS

On Tuesday, September 13th at 8:00am, all freshmen and sophomores will be taking the EXPLORE (9th) and PLAN (10th) tests at school. While taking EXPLORE is a great way to get a head start on the ACT test and to help find careers that match your interests, taking the PLAN  not only points out your academic strengths and areas that need improvement, but also gives you an estimated ACT score and connects you with colleges. We will also administer a practice ACT test that morning to all of our juniors, using the data for our ACT preparation classes on Fridays as well as to help chart each junior’s upcoming college entrance exam schedule. The seniors will have a mandatory college planning seminar that day, starting promptly at 8:15 in the seminar room with Mrs. Whitley. (Bring your laptops and come prepared to work!) Classes will resume at 11:00 that day on an abbreviated schedule.
