Students as early as grade one can understand the rationale for
giving credit for created works. They feel pride when their own work is
exhibited, and teachers and library media specialists can easily transfer this
feeling of ownership to the works of others. Working backwards from the MLA
citation format for grades 7 through 12, here are suggested citation formats
for each of the other grades for the most common reference materials.
