Homework is assigned Monday through Thursday nights. Each night includes
literacy and math work. Students should be reading for at least fifteen
minutes each night. Twice a week decodable readers are sent home to be
read by the child, signed by the parent and returned the next day.
Homework for the week of November 30- December 4:
Our story of the week is Fun With Fish- please have your child
read this story aloud NIGHTLY.
Our phonics work for the week is "sh" - as in ship, wish
Monday - Write words of the week twice in NEAT handwriting (away, food, funny,
hide, how, many, some, their), decodable reader, math page-odd and even
numbers and counting by two's.
Tuesday - Your Choice , math page
Wednesday - Response to Literature -math page, decodable reader
Thursday - Use 3 weekly words in sentences, math page.
*Decodable readers are read in class. Your child should already have his/her
name written on the top of the front cover. We highlight our phonics chunk
words.Your child should read the book to you, you should sign the cover, front
or back, that they read to you, then return it with the homework. We check it
at school, then return it to you. You can keep these books for reading practice.
