FAQFrequently Asked Questions: This page contains answers to common questions of students and parents.
What do students need for Second Grade? You will need at least 2 #2 sharpened pencils. You will need a healthy snack and a lunch or money to buy hot lunch. A Backpack (preferably without the wheels that run over my toes!) is also required. I have pencil cases, crayons, a homework folder and all your books ready to go! Students should dress in layers or bring a sweater/sweatshirt because Ms. J. leaves the window open all year!!! Sometimes it's very HOT sometimes it's a tad CHILLY. Students are asked to only bring healthy snacks for our morning snack time. Ideas for healthy snacks are: cheese and crackers, goldfish crackers, pretzels, yogurt, fruit, vegetables, and fruit juices or water. Sugary snacks and chips can be enjoyed at lunch time not snack time. What do you mean Chocolate Chip Cookies were a mistake?! Ruth Wakefield created the Chocolate Chip Cookie by accident- thus the chocolate chip cookie was a great mistake! Which is why we always say: "Mistakes can be good..." See the links page to get further details and the history of the Chocolate Chip Cookie. How can parents / guardians help in the classroom? Chaperones and drivers are needed for field trips during the year. Volunteers are also needed for centers and special activities during the month. See the calendar for centers, special events and field trips. How can I contact Ms. Johnson? You can email me at: Johnsond@Norwalkps.org(checked at least once a day, usually after school), you can send a note and receive a written response, you can call and leave a voice mail message(846 3600 ex:3021) or you can schedule a conference after school (usually Thursdays). Before school; I am preparing to teach and during the day the students are my primary focus. When do students buy lunch tickets? Student lunch cards are updated daily. Please be sure to send payment in an envelope with your child's name and classroom number clearly printed on the outside. Students will be asked to place the envelopes on the blue chair in the classroom to send to the office in the morning. |
