East Shore Teams
The team approach is the heart of East Shore Middle School. Typically, a team is comprised of two components: the student component with approximately 100 to 125 students; the teacher component with four to five core team teachers of Language Arts, Mathematics, Social Studies, and Science who are responsible for those students. Core team teachers coordinate learning experiences through interdisciplinary units of instruction. The goal of the team is to make learning meaningful by demonstrating how learning is relevant and applicable to real world experiences.
The team meets daily to plan instruction. Also, the team assesses student progress identifying students' strengths and weaknesses with the purpose of collaborating to strategize for improved student learning. Moreover, parents are frequent visitors to the team as invited participatory partners in planning and implementing strategies to help our students achieve.
