"B" Day
Admissions representatives from three area
community colleges will be here during the month of November. Visiting
are Gateway Community College on November 16th, Housatonic on November 18th
and Nrowalk on November 20th. Sign up with Mrs. Litzie in Guidance.
The Best Buddies Chapter will be having a
meeting on Thursday, November 12th from 2 to 2:30 p.m. in Mrs. Sheppard's
Room, #338. All members must attend.
Attention Seniors: Senior Quotes are
due by Tuesday, November 10th. Please see Ms. Uchaczyk with any questions.
On Friday, November 13th, there will be a
H1N1 Flu Clinic at each high school during the day. A message was sent home to
all parents regarding this clinic. Students: you will need to return
permission slips to the Main Office by Monday if you want the flu shot.
Auditions for this year's musical, "Charlie
Brown" are on Tuesday, November 10th and Thursday, November 12th.
If you are interested in auditioning, please sign up with Mrs. Shearer or
Mrs. Voss. You should see them as soon as possible to get the audition
materials and rehearsal information.
The Armed Services Vocational Aptitude
Battery (ASVAB), which is a career interest inventory, will be given on
November 17th. Please sign up in Guidance.
Student Government is sponsoring a food drive
that will be held through Friday, November 13th. Drop off cans during
homeroom. The winning homeroom will receive a free breakfast while the
individual person with the most cans will receive a $100 pre-paid American
Express Gift Card.
There will be a meeting on November 12rh in
Mr. MacKenzie's room, #206 for all Girls Soccer Players to return their
uniforms.
The Spanish club will be having an Animal
Shelter Drive through November 20th. Please bring wet/dry cat food,
birdseed, old blankets, sheets, toys or anything else to provide a nice
Thanksgiving for the animals. Boxes are located in the Media Center, the Main
Office and by the security booth. Muchas gracias!
The Milford Chamber of Commerce is once again
offering $250 grants to students who complete a community project.
Students are required to submit a business plan and budget for their project
and must have an adult sponsor (teacher or parent) who will supervise. There
are two rounds of applications. The first deadline is November 30th and the
second is January 29th. Applications are available in the College & Career
Center. Completed applications should be returned to Mrs. Litzie.
