About The Teacher

     Welcome to my website! I have been teaching at Grasso for three years 
now; I am in my second year teaching English. Education is a second career 
for me. I worked as a writer and then a publisher for the largest publishing 
house in the world (Simon and Schuster) for ten years. Publishing was lots 
of fun, and I do love to write...almost as much as I love to read and 
analyze good literature. Add a bit of wit and good humor to all of that 
intellect and we have a pretty fun class (okay...fun by my standards, which 
may be different from yours).

Mission For The Class

   Through literature, I hope to share with you a deeper understanding of 
the world around you. From personal relationships to global dynamics, 
literature can help deepen your understanding on many levels. I will help 
you see the vast differences between cultures as well as the common threads 
of human experience. 
   My mission is to outline for you the author's craft in creating good 
literature, and encouraging you to think critically and actively about the 
selections that you read. 
  Finally, I will impress upon you the power and effectiveness of good 
writing skills. Capture your ideas, express them on paper, and then polish 
them to perfection. That's my mission!
