About Me and My Job | ||
My name is Jennifer Clement. I have been the school social worker at Grasso Tech since December 1997. I earned my Masters of Social Work (MSW) from the University of Connecticut and my Bachelor's degree in Sociology from Brown University. I am married with two children and spend my free time reading, playing pool, and rooting for the Red Sox.
As the school social worker, I am one of six counselors at Grasso. I work closely with the four school counselors and the school psychologist to provide counseling and support services to help students succeed in school. While the school counselors help an entire grade and focus on academic and shop concerns as well as college and career planning, I usually work more intensely with a smaller number of students about a wider range of social, emotional, and behavioral issues. In addition, while the school psychologist tends to focus on helping students with issues that are directly affecting their learning, I am more likely to work with students who are affected by issues at home or out of school.
