About The Teacher

I love to teach. This is my 14th year teaching and my 6th year at Ellis
Tech. I also teach Math at Three Rivers
Community College at night.

I live in Danielson with my husband of 25 years (I love going for rides in
his 1926 Model T truck and his 1966 Corvair Corsa!) and my son, John-
Mark who is a freshman at Three Rivers Community College in Electrical
Engineering and an Ellis Tech graduate. My 21 year old daughter is a
preparing for National Interpreter Certification and will be moving out to
Logan, Utah to work with the deaf and hearing impaired. I teach Parenting
classes, Sunday School, and am active in my Sorority - Alpha Delta Kappa.

I am Bilingual and speak Spanish fluently - I even interpret for non-English
speakers.

My favorite thing to do is travel! I can hardly wait for my next trip.
My other hobbies and interests include: Letterboxing, Scrapbooking, Cooking,
watching Football - I love Sunday Night Football! - and Knitting, by hand
and on my knitting machine. I am learning to play the Keyboard. I love to
learn new
things.

Mission For The Class

RESPECT and RESPONSIBILITY are the two most important traits my students can
demonstrate. I like to see students demonstrate those two traits in all
their work and interactions in class. Because we have limited resources and
because I like ACTIVE learning I also expect students to be RESOURCEFUL.

My goals for this year and for the two courses that I teach are:
1) to teach Science connecting to the real-life applications of the content;
2) to help students develop excellent problem-solving skills through labs
and projects;
3) to help students learn to write in science to effectively communicate in
words, numbers, and graphs,
4) to help students become self-managing;
5) to prepare students to succeed on the Grade 10 CAPT;and
6) to have fun learning Science!
