This is Mr. Hetherington's 11th year teaching at Horace W. Porter.
Mr. Hetherington graduated from Eastern Connecticut State University with a MS
in Elementary Education. His undergraduate BS degree was earned at Temple
University where he majored in Civil Engineering Technology. Mr. Hetherington
has taught 5th grade (self contained classroom), 6th grade Ancient History,
6th grade World Cultures/Geography, and 6th/7th Grade Mathematics. He holds
state certifications in Elementary Ed., Grade 7-12 Social Studies and Grade
7-12 Mathematics. Prior to his teaching life, Mr. H worked for 20 years in
private industry as an engineer and manager.
When away from school, Mr. H enjoys spending time with his wife and three
boys, travel, playing the guitar badly, watching sports, reading, and working
on math puzzles/problems.
