Homework

Speech homework is usually only given to student who are working on improving
selected speech sounds or are working on their listening skills. The purpose
of speech homework is to provide the student with a regular routine of
practicing and to offer continued support.

If a child is working on correcting an error production of a speech sound, it
is very important to practice saying that sound on a daily basis. Even five
minutes of practice in the evening can make a difference.

Students seem to enjoy practicing their sounds in the speech room. We try to
practice the sounds in a high interest activity or in a game format.

If you would like some more ideas for practicing at home, please call or
e-mail me at lfinnie@hwporter.org
