Welcome back to school for the 2008-2009 year!! I hope everyone enjoyed their
summer and look forward to the year ahead.
Here are the concert dates for the Winter and Spring concerts. The Winter
concert for grades 5&6, 7&8 and jazz band is Tuesday, December 9th. The
concert will begin promptly at 7 P.M. Please have any performers here at 6:30
P.M. to have time to warm-up and tune. The Spring concert is scheduled for
Tuesday, May 19th at 7 P.M.
Please help your child and the band program by encouraging your child to
practice 4-5 times per week for 20-25 minutes. This will improve their skill
set and also improve the overall sound of the bands here at Porter.
In addition, the jazz band is scheduled to perform at the Beckish Senior
Center on December 15th, at 12:30 P.M.
