If you would prefer a phone call, let me know. How will I know what is happening in my child's classroom? This year we will try to have one child record each day one reflection, and then we'll send this home once a week. Why do I not see many papers coming home? What goes home in the heart is more important than what goes in the hand. We use many workbooks in school. Sometimes we will tear the pages out and send home. If you would like to see any of the work, feel free to arrange a time with me to do so. How may I help the teacher? We work together to provide the best all around education the includes the whole child. Make sure your child is always prepared for school, preferably with his/her help the evening before. Have a drop spot for the backpack, as well as a place your child can put the agenda and homework folder. Extra snacks could be kept in the backpack, for those occasional busy days, (i.e., cheese cracker, granola bar, box of raisins). Thanks for sending no peanut snacks). Include a water bottle, with an insulator covering to prevent drips from condensation. Send children with gloves, hats, boots, no flip flops or open backed shoes (as necessary). We go out in all kinds of weather. Do you celebrate birthdays? Yes! If you would like to send in a healthy snack, let me know in advance so I can OK it, pending allergies in the class. Fruit kabobs and yogurt pops have always been popular. If you would like to join us at 1:40 for snack, let me know. Also, you may make a poster with your child about himself/herself. Let's be in contact about specific days in June to celebrate summer birthdays. May I volunteer? By the 2nd month of school, let me know what days/times you have available. Possible times that would be helpful: 9:15 - 10:00 and 1:45 - 3. Also, would like a room parent to arrange special events with me.
