I am entering my 11th year teaching at John F. Kennedy School. This will be my second year teaching
second grade. I am currently attending The Graduate Institute, working towards a master's degree in
Thinking and Learning. I have a four-year-old son Jaden who will be starting preschool this year! I am
so excited to start a new school year!
My mission each year is to work with my students to create a caring classroom community where each
member feels safe and respected, allowing them to take risks and work to their full potential.
This atmosphere is created through a variety of activities that foster a sense of community.
Below is a list of some of these activities.
Community Circle: A daily meeting where we have the opportunity to share personal information.
Feelings Thermometer: A place for us to display our feelings throughout our day.
Community Building: Exercises that lead us through "getting to know you" to trusting each other.
