| Course Description:
This course will focus on world events from the 1750’s to the
present, with special emphasis on the growth of the political, economic, and
social institutions of Europe.
The course will begin with the French Revolution and move through
the Industrial Revolution, Imperialism, Unification of Germany and Italy,
World War I, Russian Revolution, Between the Wars, World War II, Cold War,
modern revolutions, the break up of the super powers, and the changing
contemporary world.
How your grade will be calculated:
Your grade is calculated on a point system. To determine your grade,
the number of points you earned is divided by the total number of points
assigned in the quarter.
Test and large projects are worth 100 points; quizzes and small
projects 75, 50, 25 points depending on size; Home work is also on the point
scale depending on how many questions. Class participation and attendance
are collectively worth 100 points.
