Problem Based Learning
Problem Based Learning centers around the ability of solving of a real time problem. The students work in collaborative groups with the teacher acting as a facilitator. During the project, the students develop many skills such as critical thinking, problem solving, and collaboration. They will learn to identify the problem and formulate hypotheses. Next they will do searches and try to find the best answer to the problem at hand. It is a great way to to make the students responsible for their work.
Here is a wonderful example from a high school geometry teacher! Take a look.
