I hope you all had a great weekend! Vacation starts after this week! On Thursday night, my brother and sister-in-law had a beautiful baby girl! I became an aunt for the first time and am so excited!
News and Information:
FIELD TRIP: Our field trip to the Cabaret is scheduled for March 7th. We do need to collect all payment prior, so please return payment and permission slips as soon as possible. I had a large response in chaperones and wish I could take you all. Unfortunately, I am able to have 4, so to be fair, I picked 4 of you who have not yet attended a trip. If you were not yet selected, we do have another trip coming up!. Chaperones are Christopher’s mom, Sophie’s mom, Cole’s mom, and Semilola’s mom. Please send in your payment (same amount) as soon as you can. Thanks!
Star of the Week: Our star this week is Cole!!!! Since he’s joined our family he has been working so hard and is such a good example for his peers! Keep up the good work, Cole!
Daffodil Days: If you’re interested in ordering daffodils for American Cancer Society, please send in your order form and payment!! LAST DAY FOR DONATIONS IS THIS FRIDAY!!! Thank you!
Valentine’s Day: Please send in yoru Valentine’s day boxy or decorated bag by tomorrow. We’ll have a small party with a craft and time to hand out Valentines. IF YOU CHOOSE TO GIVE OUT VALENTINES, PLEASE BE SURE TO HAVE ONE FOR EACH AND EVERY CHILD. A class list is available on our website. WEAR RED FOR VALENTINE’S DAY ON TUESDAY!
100th Day: I was very impressed with all who attempted the 100th Day challenge!! We’ll go over them this week and as promised, you’ll get a no homework pass!
This Week
Writing: This week we’ll be continuing to use authors as mentors in writing. We’ll be writing in our “tiny topics” notebooks, where we’ll jot down ideas of what to write. We will also be making valentine’s for family at home, and later in the week talk about President’s Day and do some creative writing about if we were presidents.
Math: We’ll be starting Unit 6 this week in math, which goes back to addition and subtraction strategies. This week we’ll be working a lot with the number 10!! Over break, feel free to work on addition/subtraction facts and use our class website for math magician.
Fundations: We’re starting unit 9 this week. Please read the information that came home today to see how you can help at home. We’re working on closed syllable words.
Have a great week! Love, Mrs. Canevari
