Book Talk Info & Schedule

Room 22 will begin 'Book Talk Fridays' next week. It's simple & fun!
It's a great way to introduce new text to your child. Your child will chose
the text he/she wishes to share with their peers. It can be a chapter book,
short story, picture book, poem book or magazine. They'll tell the class
their favorite part OR a short summary AND why they brought it in to share
with their class. 'Book Talk' should only take about 3-4 minutes per child.
Short & simple!

To add a little fun they can bring in an item that makes a connection with
their text. Some ideas: Read Cat and the Hat and wear a silly hat, read a
book about bees and pass out bee stickres... NO FOOD!!!
stickers. ****You don't have to do this part - this part is optional!!!

Keep it simple, keep it fun! Book Talk Fridays start next week. Your child
will have an assigned Friday of each month. Everyone will have 7 Book Talks.
See schedule on back!!

This is a stress –free activity, but I do expect the children to be
prepared. Pleas e-mail me if you have any questions. No make-ups,
if you are absent... there's always next month.

Thank you for your support & assistance from home!
