I know we are counting down to summer (just 16 days left) and the children get very excited and emotional about leaving but that does NOT excuse the behavior I have had from Room 22 these past few days. I say Room 22 because it has been the majority of the class.
They have needed MANY reminders that I am the adult and the teacher and that I plan our day and activities. I am constantly being questioned or told what they want to do or be asked if they can do XYZ instead. This is not acceptable behavior from 7 & 8 year old children.
The other issue I see more than ever lately is NOT minding their OWN business. They are not the teacher and they are not to be telling others what to do.
We have 16 days of school. Academics will continue to the very end. I love to have fun but as they know after being with me ALL year that work and good behavior comes before play! The play & fun will not happen if the work is not completed as expected.
Please discuss this with your child at home. I hope to see some difference on Tuesday when we return after a long holiday weekend!
