Dear Mathewson Community,

On behalf of the Mathewson Staff and myself I want to extend a thank you for the continued support that you provide to us and your children. It is the efforts of both that help students succeed in school and life.

One thing we hold precious at Mathewson is having students read. Please do not underestimate the power of students reading for fifteen to thirty minutes per night. It is as important as any other assigned homework. We try to have students read up to 30 minutes per day in text at their level and with accountability. That means they read, talk or write about the book they are reading at their level. Please fit this into your schedules in the evening too. No surprise practicing reading is the key to reading fluency and comprehension. Practice, practice, practice. Thanks for your help!!
