| *** Sign Student Planners every night!!!
Homework is an essential responsibility that every second grader has.
Four nights a week students are expected to complete assignments from
various subjects, inlcuding practicing math facts at least three times a
week, and reading every night. Each student has his or her own assignment
book and is responsible for writing down all given assignments. New spelling
lists go home every Friday for those students who would like to get ahead on
their work. Students are expected to read for at least 20 minutes a night!
Parents play an extremely important role in making sure that assignments
are completed correctly, neatly, and on time. The more interest and
dedication you as parents show toward your children's school
responsibilities, the more likely they are to act on their own dedication
and motivation. Homework is a beneficial way for students to bring home and
share what they have learned, as well as, provide them daily opportunities
to apply this information outside of the classroom setting.
The second grade teachers greatly appreciate the constant support and
guidance you offer your children. And even if they don't say it, your
children appreciate it too!
