Mrs. Comfort’s Assignment Sheet
For the Week of November 30, 2009

· The science test will be on Tuesday, December 8th and will cover Chapter 1 Sections 1 and 3.
· Your notebook will be collected on the test day. Please note, that I only collect the TOC list and TOCs.
· It will mostly be multiple choice and may be on a scantron.
· Bring your calculator to class each day. You will need it!

Monday, November 30, 2009
Class work:
1. Get materials and organize work for the week.
2. Return TOC #15 Motion homework and review the answers in class.
3. TOC #14 Roller Coaster Lab – finish Goal #2 and fill out Table 2.
4. In groups, discuss the conclusion questions.
Homework:
1. Finish the writing the answers to the conclusions questions on your own and in complete sentences in the space provided. Please write neatly. This will be turned in with your notebook next week.

Class work:
1. Check over conclusion questions in class today by discussing in small groups.
2. Go over study guide for the test.
3. Explain how to turn in your notebook for the notebook check. Fill out the rubric.
4. Discuss study strategies and how to take notes efficiently.
5. Begin TOC #16 Problems with Trains in class together. Make sure you know how to identify information in a word problem, and are able to solve the problems using the 3 steps.
Homework:
- Finish TOC #16 Problems with Trains – don’t forget to use units!
- Start studying for the test. Use the study guide provided and begin reviewing your notes.

- Begin TOC #17 Speed and Acceleration Graphs in class
Homework:
- Finish TOC #17 Speed and Acceleration Graphs at home. There are 2 fronts and 2 backs to finish.
- Study for the science test by using the study guide.

Class work:
- Review the answer to TOC #17 Speed and Acceleration Graphs
- View either Linerider, rollercoaster game or short video on acceleration depending on time.
- Start working on challenging questions for the homework
Homework:
- Think of 5 challenging questions that might be on the test next week. Using 5 separate index cards (3x5), write the question on one side, and the answer on the other. You may write large using a marker as we will use these cards for a game on Monday.
- Have you read Chapter 1 Sections 1 and 3 lately? To study, read those two sections and make sure you know the definitions to the vocabulary words. Quiz yourself!
- Is your notebook basically ready to be turned in on Tuesday?

Class Rule Reminders
1. Assignment Sheets need to be visible and accessible.
2. All papers in your binder must be labeled, organized and clipped into the rings every day.
3. Your Table of Contents must be filled out and up to date each week. Access info online if you miss class.
4. Homework will always be as listed on this sheet unless the teacher tells you to change it on that day.
5. If you miss class, make an effort to check the web, check the assignment sheet, and/or check in with me.
