Musical Greetings to All!
My name is Don Barbour. I am a native of Norwalk, CT, now residing in
Scarsdale, NY. I like to bowl, mini-golf and love the shows 'American Idol'
and 'Glee'.
I am proud to be a member of the faculty at Northeast Elementary for my
fourth year! Previously, I taught as a K-3 general music teacher for 10
years at Black Rock Elementary School in Thomaston, CT. During the course
of my tenure, I have also been the Center School's band director and started
a string program as well.
I am excited to work with the students of Northeast Elementary!
My mission is to teach students the skills and beliefs necessary for a happy
and thriving life. I will serve as a role model as I demonstrate them
myself. I will tend to each student with the care and respect they deserve.
Students will not only become crafted musicians, but also learn how to
overcome obstacles, both academic and personal. They will learn about their
capabilities in the process and meet the high-expectations I have for them.
As a result, they will have the tools to achieve their goals in my classroom
and in the future.
