1. Please remember to send a note to school with your child after they have
been absent.
2. We will have snack everyday. Snack can be purchased daily from the
lunchroon. Please send in only one snack with one drink.
3. A note must come to school if your child's dismissal destination is changing.
If we don't get a note, your child must be dismissed their normal dismissal.
4. Please send 2 or 3 books to school weekly for your child to keep in his or
her desk to read when they have free time. They can bring them home on
Friday for 2 more new books on Monday.
5. Scholastic Book Order Forms: Please do not send in cash. Scholastic
does not accept cash. Please write checks payable to Scholastic.
5. Any money should come to school in an envelope with your child's name
on it. Please be sure you write what it is for so no one is confused and it does
not get lost.
6. Homework is due back to school the next day (except for the reading
assignment). If your child forgets it, please do not bring it to school. We are
teaching responsibility, and we want our students to learn from mistakes.
7. If you need to come back to the classroom after school is out (3:30), please
check with a custodian. He will assist you in getting what you need. The
classroom is closed to visitors after school hours. Thank you for your
cooperation.
8. Please have your athlete dress comfy on gym day. Please wear sneakers.
9. I will give a test after every Fundations unit. The tests are done in their Fundations
Notebook, therefore they won't be coming home until the end of the school year. If you
are ever curious, you can find their Notebook in their desk. Unit tests are in the back of
the book.
10. If you find that you are not getting many work papers home, it could be
that your child is forgettingt o put his or her name on their paper. Please
remind your child to put name on every paper. I tell them everyday for every
assignment. By the end of the week I have a stack of papers and no one is
claiming them. Thanks for your help!
11.Jackets/coats: Please remind your first grader to take their jacket home everyday. We
often have jackets left behind. Names in coats are helpful.
12. If you are visiting the school, please be sure you check in at the office and
get a visitor's badge. It's school policy for safety. We want to make sure who
ever is here, belongs here!
13. OAS is a "No Food" school. We cannot share food for birthdays or holiday
celebrations.
