Students in the RFS program in grades 3-5 will have a short
homework assignment Monday through Wednesday. The focus of the assignment is
to practice comprehension skills and some students will also have a fluency component too..Parents
can help their child with the fluency portion of this assignment by timing their reading for one minute
and note their mistakes. Then they can figure out their CWPM (correct words
per minute). The students will be graphing their progress and correcting their
questions the next day in class. Parent assistance with their child's fluency
practice is very helpful and greatly appreciated.It is important that your child does the homework
assignment daily. This daily practice is essential for your child to show growth and progress. Our goal is
to make your child feel successful in school.
