PTO Council....Monthly Meeting Monday, January 23rd 7:00 pm, West Rocks Middle School Library Governor Malloy has said that his focus in this year's legislative session will be narrowing the achievement gap and improving all levels of public-school education in Connecticut. Please join the PTO Council for an educationally informative evening:
Joining the PTO Council Executive Board will be State Representative, Gail Lavielle. She is both a State Representative on the Connecticut General Assembly, and a member of the Education Committee. She will be discussing the education issues that are on the agenda for the upcoming session. Issues such as ECS Funding, recent Bullying legislation, Common Core Standards and Education Reform. Also joining us will be BOE Member, Steve Colarossi, who is Chairperson of the Policy Committee. He will be adding insight into how state legislation is adopted at the local Norwalk level. He will also talk about Norwalk Education Policies that are currently being reviewed, or considered for review. If you have any Policy questions, this meeting is a great opportunity to be heard. We look forward to seeing you at the next PTO Council Meeting.

2011-12 calendar of 18 free workshops open to the public and aimed particularly at families and teachers of students with special needs (having IEPs or 504s). These workshops have been organized by Norwalk SPED Partners, Norwalk Public Schools, and SPED*NET of Wilton. It would be great if you could include these events in the weekly PTOC email blasts as they come up.
