The subject of homework always brings forth many questions, complaints, and
and frustrations. There is always the homework debate!
"Homework success depends on the type and quality of the assignments given,
the students' skills and understanding of the assignments, and parental
expectatons and participation." Margaret Nuzum
Daily homework assignments are written in the students' homework
assignment notebook and placed in their "Take me home, please!" folder.
Please remember to ask about the daily assignments.
The assignments are also posted on schoolnotes.com.
It is important to establish a sense of responsibility. Students must take
ownership of
writing their homework assignments on their assignment sheets, placing the
homework papers in their folders, then in their backpacks. Completing the
homework
and placing the work in their backpacks is their job. The final step is
bringing the work
back to school! Yeah!
Homework is given to reinforce and to practice skills taught in class. If a
concept is not understood in class, I will either change the assignment or
delay it. If your child is having difficulty, encourage your child to
persevere. Let me know if your child is really having difficulty.
Homework develops a sense of responsibility that is a lifelong skill.
