What do I do if I am absent?

Students are responsible for all make-up work. Get the notes from the class you miss from a
classmate. Homework assignments are available under your class period's calendar on this
website. Assignments that were due on the date of your absence are due the day you return to
school.

What about makeup labs?

Any missed lab work needs to be made up after school on the Monday following the missed class.

When I go to "Grades", what do the numbers under each assignment mean?

The number under an assignment tells you how many points you earned on that assignment. For
Physics, the general breakdown of the maximum points possible for assignments is as follows:
Homework = 2 points; Lab Activity = 10; Quiz = 20; Test = 50.

For Chemistry, the amount of points each assignment is worth may vary. Please refer to your
teacher for more info.

How do you arrive at the quarterly grade?

Using a point-based grading system, I simply take the total number of points you earned for the
quarter and divide it by the total possible points. For example, if there were 250 possible points to
be earned in a quarter and you earned a total of 200 points, your grade would be: 200/250 = 0.8 =
80% (B-).
