I'm a teacher that works as an artist in the classroom. By this I mean that
I share my current artistic interests with my students. I came into teaching
with the experience of working professionally as a potter for five years.
Situated in Fairfield, I made and sold Horticultural planters, fountains,
ornaments and birdbaths. Currently, I am involved with firing my ceramic
vessels using wood, propane and salt for varied affects. I specialize in
working on the potter's wheel.
Over my past three years here at THS, the student body has developed an
enthusiasm for functional pottery. It's been amazing to see the level of
quality work that is coming from Trumbull students. As the program matures,
I look forward to seeing bigger and better things occur within our small
ceramic community.
To bridge the chasm between science and fine art....students are encouraged
to discover for themselves that there is a complimentary nature between these
seemingly divergant subjects.
