1/25/12 Complete Chapter 11 Part II questions that distributed in class today. ALL questions due from ALL students by Friday. You may come to my class any time Thursday to get them if you were out today.
1/27/12 Read the Coal packet - except for the last article- for homework this weekend. Highlight and underline. Come knowing how coal is formed.
Four students were absent today from our Double period. Unfortunately, absenteeism is increasing in this class. Be aware that I expect you to keep up with the assignments - especially the readings. Those who were absent should see me early in the day Monday for your Coal packet so you can review it during your lunch. This is chapter 19.
1/30/12 COmplete questions 1-6 and 13-15 on Intro Fossil Fuel Worksheet.
1/31/12 - I estimate that this assignment will take 1 hour.
a) Complete any questions on the intro sheet that you did not complete in class today. Don't forget question #16 on the back.
b) Read the section in your text on Natural gas and oil then answer the 12 gas-related questions seen on the docs page.
c) Also, if you have not done so, read the article at the end of the coal packet - High Cost of Coal. What is the challenge? What are they trying to do about it? I suggest you look up coal gasificaiton.

a) Read remainder of Chapter including the segment on Other Fossil Fuels (often called Syn fuels) and Environmental Damage associated with all Fossil Fuels - both the acquisition and the use of them.

2/9/12 Nuclear Energy - read pgs 562-576. See Nuclear Packet on Docs page. I'll expect you to be able to answer questions 2 and 3 from the chapter questions at the end of theh packet on Monday as well as tell me about the central case of the chapter.
