Les Classes de Français de Madame Perusi
Bienvenue aux élèves de Français! Voilà quelques renseignements pour mes
classes:
1.	La Classe: Students are expected to be prepared for class.
• You will need your covered text, a writing tool, and your THREE RING
BINDER. You will not be allowed to return to your locker for any of these
things as we are out in the portables. Please do not be unprepared as this
could result in a zero for participation for the day. A small, one inch
binder will be fine. You will need to divide the notebook into sections for
homework, vocab, grammar , writing, and “ erreurs fatales” You will add to
your notebook throughout the year. .
• AP and VH - You will also need a notebook to use as a journal for
daily entries.
2. Le Comportement en classe: Classroom behavior is expected to be
appropriate. Please raise your hand to answer so that everyone, including
me, may hear you . Be considerate of others and listen attentively to me
and/or you classmates who may be presenting or responding to questions. There
is much material in this course and losing time because of inappropriate
behavior results in a loss for all.
3.	Le Devoir: Homework is due on the day indicated. There will be no
credit for homework that is late except in the case of an excused absence.
Homework is assigned daily. If it is not collected it will be checked in
class. After an excused absence the student has 2 days to make up an
assignment. There is no other credit given for missed assignments. Homework
is announced in class and is posted on www.schoolnotes.com and on Teacher
Web.
4.	Les Compositions/Les Redactions/Les Devoirs Ecrits:These are due on
the day indicated. For each day the assignment is late it will drop a letter
grade. A+ becomes B+, etc. In the case of an excused absence the student has
2 days to make up the written assignment. Written assignments are posted on
www.schoolnotes.com and Teacher Web
UNDER NO CIRCUMSTANCES ARE STUDENTS TO USE AN ON-LINE TRANSLATOR FOR WRITTEN
ASSIGNMENTS. If the student needs to look up a word a dictionary should be
used. If there is suspicion of an on-line translator the student will
receive an F for the assignment. On the first offense the student will have
one day to make up the work. After that, all cases will earn an F. I WILL
BE HAPPY TO EXPLAIN IN CLASS HOW I CAN TELL IF ONE OF THESE PROGRAMS HAVE
BEEN USED.
5.	Les Absences: Students will have a week from day of return to make
up tests/quizzes from an excused absence/tardy to school, and two days for
homework or written assignments. The students must have been marked excused
on the absentee list or have a note from a parent/guardian to be an excused
absence/tardy. Field trips are included in excused absences. Any
assignments/quizzes/tests etc. that are not made up will become an F and
averaged in as such. An unexcused absence means that the student will receive
an F for the day’s work and prohibited from amking up the assignment, quiz or
test .
.
6.	En Retard pour la Classe: Students must arrive on time for class.
Tardy students will have a pass from a teacher/staff member or the student
will be assigned a tardy unexcused. Remember two unexcused tardies to class
equals one detention from me .
7.	Les notes: Students will be graded on daily oral work, oral
presentations, quizzes, tests, homework and written assignments.
This year I will be using a point system to incorporate all aspects of
language learning. The student’s grade will be based on the number of
percentage points out of the total number of points for the quarter. The
oral participation grade will be given midway and at the end of the quarter.
Homework: Each student will begin the quarter with a HOMEWORK Test grade of
100%. For each assignment missed the student will lose 4 points from that
Homework Test Grade. The Homework Test Grade will be averaged in with the
other test grades
8.	Extra Help is always available on Wednesdays after school in the
upper media center or by appointment. My office is in the upper media center.
I am also in the commons during period 4 if you have a question about your
work or the material.
This is an Honors level class and the students will be expected to SPEAK
FRENCH!!!!. Please do not use English in the classroom unless you ask in
French first if you may do so. This will be reflected in your oral
participation/ proficiency grade. Remember we are together to perfect your
French !
