Class Expectations

Science Expectations
Red Team

Seventh grade science is filled with inquiry, asking questions about
the world around us, research, technology, reading, math, cooperative
groupings and hands-on labs. The expectation is that as young adults,
students will behave in a responsible, respectful, and safe manner.
Grades will be based on student performance and established department
guidelines. Individual work, cooperative group work and learning centers
have expected outcomes that are graded. Work that is handed in needs to be
written in complete sentences.
Homework is given nightly (except on Friday) and it is expected that all
homework be done on time. Homework is to be kept in the notebook and will be
checked and graded. Homework assignments can be found on my teacher web page
located on the West Shore Middle School Web Page.
Materials needed for class include a notebook or binder section for
homework and note taking. A pen/pencil is needed daily. The textbook needs
to be covered. The curriculum can be found online at milforded.org.
The Make Your Day Program is followed in class. I will contact parents
if I have any concerns, in addition to the Make Your Day Program, as needed.
Extra help is available by appointment only, due to the safety of the
student. If a student stays after school, a written note is needed and the
parent needs to indicate if the student is a walker, takes the bus, or has
permission to walk home.
If you have any questions feel free to contact me at 783-3553 from 2:35
pm to 3:00 pm. Please sign and return this form by September
9, 2011.

                  Sincerely,

                  Mary-Ellen Coloski, Red Team Science
