Many Resource Room students take a Language Arts class called Read 180. This class caters to "reluctant readers," the students who are not dying to curl up with a good book!!! It is a team-taught class where two Special Educators, our Reading Specialist, and two Para-Educators work together with small groups of students within the 42 minute class. Check in with your child and ask them what book they are currently reading. If the answer is "none," help them find a good book. If they tell you what book they are reading, ask them to tell you what it is about. The more they read, the more competent and confident a reader they will become. The ability to read and comprehend what we read is the basis for all learning!!!!!
