What do I do if I don't understand a homework problem?
For Grades 7 or 8 Math, look through the chapter in your textbook
to see if there are similar problems that might take you through
the steps. Or go to Mrs. Hochhausler's teacher website and use
the link to the textbook website and look up under (click blue
text), Student Center, then on the left under Textbook
Navigation, choose the chapter and lesson number, then Personal
Tutor to see how problems are done-there are a few problems for
each. You'll need sound on your computer.
For math and other classes, review notes from class, call a
classmate, or use the textbook, your notebook, or textbook
website if available. If all else fails, do the best you can and
try to talk to your teacher before class explaining the situation.
How can I get extra practice on math problems with which I'm having trouble?
Use your textbook - in math the answers to odd numbered problems
are in the back of the book for you to check, or use textbook
websites or other on-line math sites (see Mrs. Hochhausler's
website) for similar problems.
