I have been a resource teacher at OLV for over eight years. During that
time, I have worked with students in grades one through eight.
I earned a Master's of Science degree in Special Education from the Johns
Hopkins University, with a focus on students with mild-to-moderate
disabilities, and am certified in the State of Maryland. I participated in
internships at The Ivymount School in Potomac, Maryland, and at William H.
Farquhar Middle School in Olney, Maryland.
I am a member of the Council for Exception Children and the Council of
Learning Disabilities.
I live in Arlington, Virginia.
My mission includes helping students work toward their potential by teaching
them using explicit instruction, providing multiple examples and non-
examples, and by using a variety of delivery methods (to supplement auditory
learning).
I try to build confidence in students by helping them realize their strengths
and by fostering independence and self-advocacy. A focus on organizational
skills and routines is part of daily resource classes.
