child to someone else.

Nut Free School
Janney is a nut free s chool and we have a child in our class who does have
a nut allergy. Please read all the labels carefully. Check the Janney
website for more information. If you have any further questions, please
contact the school nurse.

Room Parents
If you would be interested in being a room parent, please let us know.
Two parents have already volunteered and we are looking for 2 additional
volunteers, however we will need everyone’s support to help with the
wonderful pre-kindergarten events that we have planned.

Book buddies
Our class is book buddies with Mrs. David's 3rd grade class. Each student
will be paired up with a 3rd grader to read once a week.

Take Home Tuesday
Take Home Tuesday (THT) is the envelope that is sent home every Tuesday.
Enclosed you will find student work. Also, there will be other important
information. Please read, sign, and return the envelope and any requested
information (ie. permission slips) on Wednesday.

Sharing
A sharing schedule in today’s THT. Sharing will begin Monday, September
12th. Students will practice speaking in front of the class and asking
questions. Please help your child decided what he/she would like to
share. It is ok for the 1st few weeks of sharing if your child wants to
bring in a small toy. (pictures, drawings, books are some ideas of items to
share)

Birthdays
Birthdays are a big deal in pre - kindergarten. If you would like to bring
in a treat to celebrate your child’s birthday, please let us know a day in
advance. Celebrations are usually held in the afternoons. Also, feel
free to bring in your child’s favorite story to read after the celebration.

Change of clothing
Please send in a change of clothing, if you have not already done so for
your child. Place it in a Ziploc bag clearly marked with your child’s
name.

Donations
Old magazines/Newspapers

Shoe Requests
Although there is no dress code at Janney we would request, if at all
possible, that your child refrain from wearing crocs or flimsy flip flops.
The students generally go outside two times a days and we would feel more
comfortable if they wore shoes that have more support. This is done with
the up most concern for their safety.

Birthday Invitations
Please note that it is our policy not to pass out invitations as we don't
want to hurt anyone's feelings. The one exception is if you invite the
entire class and leave the envelopes blank so we can easily place them in
the tht's.
