Room Parents & Volunteering/Participating in the Classroom:
Four Room Parents are selected on a first come, first serve basis. The role
of the Room Parents includes: organizing year round celebrations, helping
organize chaperones for field trips, and organizing the Parent Social.
Other opportunities for participating in and volunteering for class events
include: holiday activities and celebrations, class performances and
presentations, field trips, and assemblies. Parents are also welcome to come
to our class as a “Parent Reader” in which a picture book (related to a
subject currently being taught or favorite childhood book) is read aloud to
students followed by a snack. Sign-ups for being a Parent Reader will be
available beginning in mid-September. Plan to sign-up at Back to School Night.
