About The Teacher

Hello, my name is Jaclyn Seward. This is my fifth year teaching at Janney
Elementary School. The past four years I have taught fifth grade and this is
my first year teaching third grade. I am looking forward to a new adventure.
It is a joy to see my students everyday.
I love watching them grow academically and socially throughout the year.
I grew up in Freehold, NJ. I have two older sisters, Joanne and Katie.
Joanne lives in PA with her husband and my two adorable nephews, Ryan and
Tyler. Katie moved to Washington, DC five years ago. I am very happy to
have her nearby. My younger brother, Matt, is in college at Seton Hall
University studying to become a nurse. My family is very important to me and
I try to go home and see them as often as I
can.
I attended The Catholic University of America where I received my
bachelor degree in Elementary Education. I was a student-athlete my entire
life. My sport of choice is lacrosse. My senior year of college I was a
substitute teacher for DCPS. This upcoming Spring, will be my fourth year
coaching at St. John's High School JV Ladies' Lacrosse Team.
This past May I enrolled to George Mason University for my master's in
curriculum and instruction with a concentration as a reading specialist. I
will graduate in the Spring of 2014.

Mission For The Class

I will do my best to ensure that my students are learning new things and
improving upon the things they already know each day. Most importantly, I
want my students to enjoy coming to school each day.
