How often do I have lessons?

Lessons are offered once each week on a rotating basis.
Schedules will be posted on the bandroom door and in your classrooms for you to consult.

Do I have to practice every day?

Of course you do! Practicing makes you a better musician with every passing day!
You'll be amazed at how quickly you'll progress and everyone will be really proud of you...including me!

How do I fill in my practice chart?

Whenever you practice (which should be every day), write the amount of time that you practiced in the correct block on your
practice chart (be honest)!
On the night before your lesson, total the time and have your parent sign your chart so that you can get a sticker on your chart
in the bandroom.
120 minutes + Parent Signature = STICKER

Do I have to come to the concerts?

ABSOLUTELY! You are now part of a band and a band works as a team. If you don't show up for the performance, your very
important part is missing and there's an empty seat on the stage! CONCERTS ARE AWESOME!
Applause that's for YOU is just about the most wonderful sound in the world!

What do I wear to concerts?

It's important that we look like we belong on the same "team", so we'll dress alike.
Girls...wear a WHITE blouse or shirt and BLACK dress pants or skirt (to the knee or below).
Boys...wear a WHITE dress shirt, BLACK pants (no jeans, please) and a tie. The type of tie is YOUR choice...Scooby Doo,
Sponge Bob,Indianapolis Colts, something more traditional...whatever!

What do I do if my instrument is broken?

If it breaks the night before your lesson, bring it in the next day for me to check.
If I can repair the problem, I will--if not, we'll send it over to the music store for repair.
If it breaks and you're too long away from a lesson, simply go directly to the music store.
They will repair it for you.

May I count lessons in my practice time?

Sorry...no. Practicing is what you do AT HOME...without me.
Lessons are where we show off what we've learned and of course, learn NEW skills.
