What will I learn in this class?

You will learn the four standards of social studies: History, Economics,
Geography, and Civics. All lessons and units will revolve around one of
these standards. We cover everything from the Ancient Romans to the Regions
of Latin America, so be ready to learn.

How much homework will I have?

I do not give a ton of homework. That does not mean that you will not have
any at all. Homework will be given about once a week. Homework is worth
more than classwork, so it is important it gets done.

How are assignments graded?

I grade all assignments by total points. This is the easiest way for
everyone to know their grade in my class. Tests are worth more than quizes,
quizes more than homework, and homework more than classwork. All you have
to do is add up all the points you recieved and divide that by the total
number of possible points. If you get a 9 out of 10 on a worksheet, you
earned a 90%.

Whats the deal with our textbooks?

I do not assign textbooks to students. The textbooks are to remain in the
classroom at all times. The only reason why a student would take a textbook
home is because they need to make-up work.

How can I contact the teacher?

The best way to get a hold of me is by email. I check my email at least ten
times a day. My email address is mbailey@mail.milford.k12.de.us

The next best way to reach me is by phone. If you call the school (422-
1620) you will be sent to my voice mail. I do however only check my voice
mail once or twice a week, so be patient.

Another way for me to contact you would just to send a note in with your
child. All it has to say is "please call me" and I will call you that day.
