I began teaching here at Milford Middle School during the 2002-2003 school
year. In September 2000 I did my student teaching here in the sixth grade.
After my student teaching I substituted here and taught summer school at
Morris. For the 2001-2002 school year I taught eighth grade reading at
Selbyville Middle School. My first year here in Milford I taught science
and social studies in both sixth and seventh grades. The next year I taught
science and math again for both sixth and seventh grades. From then on I
have been teaching eighth grade math. I feel that by teaching all of these
different subjects I have been given me a better insight into what is going
on all over this great middle school. This knowledge has helped me to tie
my lessons to what the kids have already learned. Yes, even in different
subjects. I constantly tell my students that everything is related and they
just need to look closely to see how they fit together.
This year I begin a new journey as the special education coordinator.
My wife, Cindi and I live here in Milford with two of our three children.
Cindi works as a secretary for a doctor here in Milford. Our oldest
daughter Sara has graduated college with a degree in film production. Our
youngest daughter is a senior at Fredonia College in New York, working on a
degree in buisness. And finally, our son Andrew is a tenth grade student at
Milford High School.
Our class mission is to work together, to ensure all students reach their
full potential during this school year.
In order to ensure this safe learning environmet the entire eighth grade
team has set the same classroom expectations for behavior.
OUR CLASSROOM EXPECTATIONS
1. Be Responsible
2. Be Respectful
3. Be Prepared
4. Be Positive
Using these four expectations our entire school teaching staff follows
the same positive behavior program. Each day all students and their
assigned teams can earn BUC cards in each of their classes. These tickets
can be used at the school store, in the classroom to buy needed items or
turned in to purchase their way into the various reward opportunities during
the year. The largest of these is the annual trip to Great Adventure on the
day after the 8th graders are done with school.
