Is homework accepted late?
Yes but only one day after it is due. The highest grade possible will be a 70% if it is late. This includes work left in a locker. I reserve the right to not accept an assignment when the assignment is graded during the next class session. I would consider providing an alternate assignment if promptly requested.Back to Top

What if my child fails a quiz or test?
Any grade below a 60% is returned to every student with the option to make test corrections on a separate piece of paper. All work must be shown. The two grades will be added together and divided by 2 for a final grade. NO ONE SHOULD EVER HAVE A FINAL GRADE BELOW A 70%.Back to Top

What should I do if my child is struggling on homework?
Tutoring is available if the proper paperwork is completed. Please contact me via email and I will let you know what is available. They should always make an attempt to complete all problems. Many times they will be on the right track and if you are unable to redirect their efforts I will be able to.Back to Top

Can I show my child another way to solve the problem?
If they are not following the examples from class please show them the way you understand it. The goal is to have a method to solve the problems and understand it. As long as they can explain it (share with us all) I am happy they have an understanding.Back to Top

Can my child receive extra credit to bring up a grade?
No. I do not modify grades based on extra credit. I can provide extra practice to help build a stronger foundation for a concept.Back to Top

How long does my child have to make up work?
Only excused absences will be permitted to complete make up assignments. The work must be turned in within one day for each day absent after their return. Any missed quizzes or tests should be completed prior to an absence, if possible. If the absence was unexpected the student must make arrangements, to make the test/quiz up, within 3 days of his/her return. It is the students responsibility to retrieve the makeup work from the marked assignment cubby.Back to Top
