IBDP11 Art

IBDP11 VISUAL ART

Ensure that holiday work is complete and look at the Portrait project and do a significant amount of reserach so that you are ready for the start of term.

The IBDP art course is challenging and exciting but it is up to you to make it ‘happen’.   The course is a continual process of personal self development and an adventure of exploration and experimentation into your own creative growth and potential…..there is no catching up or revising at the last minute.  The learning journey from first idea to final piece is as important as the final artwork.  DO NOT THROW ANYTHING AWAY- mistakes are an important part of learning.  Record your thoughts, ideas, reactions and responses in your sketch book – which we will now call your INVESTIGATION WORKBOOK.

INVESTIGATION WORKBOOK

You will use an A4 bound sketchbook to record all your investigations, research, planning and evaluation throughout the course (at least five pages a week!).  Each page should be a combination of visual and written information and ideas (images/drawings and notes/personal opinions/ideas).  RECORD the source of your information i.e. the website or book you have used.  This will form 40% of your grade and it is essential that you begin immediately!  If you are able to find a suitable sketchbook that’s great – if not work in any A4 sketchbook but only use one side of the paper and it can be stuck into a bound sketchbook in September.

You need to complete at least 25 pages over the summer.  Most of these pages should relate to the HOLIDAY   WORK   that has been set.
