Developing motifs inspired by natural form and making repeat patterns with oil pastel and water colour.  Links to William Morris

Clay Work

Using coil pot technique to create a form inspired by natural form.  Links with Art Nouveau and Gaudi

Group painting

Group work considering composition, color.  Groups each have a theme – different subjects in school to investigate and represent in a large painting.

Self Portraits

Students investigate self portraits, looking at the different styles artists have used.

They undertake a self portrait.  Considering proportion of a face, individual characteristics and style to reflect personality and interests.

Examination: preparation and final artwork

A final project enables Students to apply their knowledge and understanding of the skills and concepts covered over the year.  The preparation is completed through lessons and home works and the final artwork is undertaken in the examination.  The completed project, both preparation and final artwork, is assessed.
