GRADE 12 GENERALOur High School English courses are based on the standards set by the State of California. Assessment is conducted using standard rubrics that are shared by all teachers across the department. To pass the course you must fulfill attendance requirements and participate positively in class. The texts you study for Literature in this class will be Silas Marner, A Thousand Splendid Suns, Hamlet, A Streetcar Named Desire, American Poetry, (contemporary) and a selection of pre 20th Century world poems. Along with the language study, writing and oral assessments, SAT help and general written and oral communication skills development, this makes for a rigorous, demanding and highly academic course that will help you get off to great start at college / university.
