Should I help my child do their homework?

Show an interest in what your child is doing at school but homework should
be done as independently as possible. The homework should reflect the
understanding the child has of the work given. For further information,
check the homework expectations section.

Should my child complete the homework if my child was ill today?

Most homework given reflects what has been taught that day in the lesson so
if your child has been absent, they will be unable to complete it. We also
feel that it is better to rest and recover quickly.

Should I phone to ask for the homework when my child is absent?

If your child has been ill for one day, please do not worry. It is better to
let them rest and recover. The class teacher will always make sure your
child has their new spelling list when they return to school. If you are
planning to go away, please let us know in advance and we will do our best to
provide you with the homework your child will miss.
