FAQ

Frequently Asked Questions: This page contains answers to common questions of students and parents.
  1. Does my child need private lessons?
  2. Should my child complete the homework if my child was ill today?
  3. Should I help my child do their homework?
  4. How can I help my child at home?

Does my child need private lessons?

We at MES discourage private lessons, as we do our best to cater for all
abilities within the classroom or the LDD department. The children have a
very full day and forty minutes homework each night which leaves little time
to persue personal interests or hobbies which also play an important role in
your child's self-esteem and development. If you are very worried about
your child, please contact the class teacher.

Should my child complete the homework if my child was ill today?

Most homework given reflects what has been taught that day in the lesson so
if your child has been absent, they will be unable to complete it. We also
feel that it is better to rest and recover quickly.

Should I help my child do their homework?

Show an interest in what your child is doing at school but homework should
be done completely independently. The homework should reflect the
understanding the child has of the work given. For further information,
check the homework expectations section.
