FAQFrequently Asked Questions: This page contains answers to common questions of students and parents.
Does my child need private lessons? We at MES discourage private lessons, as we do our best to cater for all abilities within the classroom or the LDD department. The children have a very full day and forty minutes homework each night which leaves little time to persue personal interests or hobbies which also play an important role in your child's self-esteem and development. If you are very worried about your child, please contact the class teacher. Should my child complete the homework if my child was ill today? Most homework given reflects what has been taught that day in the lesson so if your child has been absent, they will be unable to complete it. We also feel that it is better to rest and recover quickly. Should I help my child do their homework? Show an interest in what your child is doing at school but homework should be done completely independently. The homework should reflect the understanding the child has of the work given. For further information, check the homework expectations section. How can I help my child at home? - talk to child about their day - hear your child read and discuss the content - ask lots of questions about the topics they are learning about - provide a quiet space for your child to complete homework tasks - use opportunities in everyday life to reinforce concepts learnt at school - make sure your child gets plenty of exercise and rest. |
