Every day Year 6 children will be given a homework that should take them
45 minutes from their class/numeracy teachers.
Some of the homework lasts over a longer period of time, others like spelling
should be practised for a short time every day.
Class teachers will inform children of their homework timetable and children
should be writing the details in their homework diaries. Please check
Teacherweb class pages for updates.
The children will also be given a list of spelling words to learn every
week and they are expected to practise them and their times tables on a
regular basis.
French, Music, Arabic and Religion homework are given weekly by their
specialist teachers.
Homework should be written neatly using a ruler to underline any titles and
their best joined handwriting. Some homework could be completed on the
computer but only if the home printer works and a hard copy of the homework
can be handed in on time.
All children should be able to access the internet from home to help them
with their homework tasks and research projects.
Every child is expected to read for 20 minutes a day at home.
